How to check your data usage

See how much data you've used this billing cycle, plus a daily chart that shows the days you used the most. Useful for spotting which day someone was streaming or downloading heavily.

Works on Android & iOS

Tap "See details" on the home screen

The home screen shows a quick summary — the total data you've used this cycle and what plan you're on.

To see more, tap See details → on the usage card. This opens the full Data Usage screen.

Multiple sites? If your account has more than one Starlink, the home card shows total data across all sites combined. To see usage for one specific site, tap Sites at the bottom, pick the site, then tap Usage Details.

The big number is your total this cycle

The huge number at the top is the total GB you've used this billing cycle. Below it you'll see whether you're on an unlimited plan or have a data cap.

The dates underneath show your cycle start and end — this is the period the number covers. Usage resets to zero when a new cycle starts.

Below that, the Stats card shows three numbers: total this cycle, your daily average, and your peak day.

Why "Last updated" matters: usage is pulled from Starlink's cloud, which updates a few times per day. The timestamp tells you how fresh the data is. If your usage looks lower than expected, give it a few hours and check again.

Read the daily chart to spot heavy days

The chart shows one bar per day in your billing cycle. Taller bar = more data used that day.

The red bar is the most recent day (today, or the latest day with data). The grey bars are previous days.

Look for days where the bar is much taller than the others — those are the days something heavy happened. Common culprits: someone streamed a lot of YouTube or Netflix, an automatic phone backup, a big download, or a software update.

If a day looks unusually high and you weren't doing much: someone else might be using your Wi-Fi. Tap Hotspot mode from the home screen and check Connected Devices to see who's on. If you see something you don't recognise, change your Wi-Fi password (see that tutorial).
